The Jock Jams Power Hour and Then Some Mix

Well, once again I have created a new power hour mix. I know you all love them (at least my friends on Facebook do). During the summer, after I released my The European Vacation Chasing Carmen Sandiego & Waldo Power Hour, my friend Evan came up with the great idea for me to take jock jams that you would listen to on ESPN and turn it into a Power Hour mix. Evan is my bro, so obviously I was going to do it for him. As soon as I was able to have free time, I searched on Google for Jock Jams and to my amazement, I was able to find so many CD’s. I realized though that all the Jock Jams totaled over 60 songs. What was awesome is that all these songs brought back so many memories. I decided that I was to finally make a longer power hour and aim for a century hour. Unfortunately, I was unable to come up with 100 songs. This is 78 amazing songs that will pump you up. Like the prior mixes, I decided to start with the lowest beats per minute and work my way up to the higher ones. This mix obviously takes advantage of it. Please check it out! This might be one of my favorite power hour mixes due to the songs played. I know everyone loves how I post the song list, here it is including the remixes and such. Go buy each song! I keep coming and coming and coming out with new Power Hour mixes. This is my first power hour mix from my new Dell XPS and I dedicate it to my best friend who just recently came back from a month long escapade in Europe. If you follow me on Twitter or on the blog, you will know this is my forth mix. The prior three: the first being – DJ G$’s Oktoberfest Power Hour Mix, and my second – DJ G$’s Don’t Eat Leftover Tacos Anymore Power Hour Mix, and my third being – 3,691 Seconds of Power Hour. I didn’t realize this, but combined, they have nearly 1000 downloads! I feel so honored. Of course, I had to make a new one with almost all new music! I tried to use the latest music. I’d like to thank my friend Jason as I used his Summer mix for a basis! You can find his summer mix here: Summer 2011.

Ok, so hopefully all of you heard my first Power Hour Mix – DJ G$’s Oktoberfest Power Hour Mix, and my second Power Hour Mix – DJ G$’s Don’t Eat Leftover Tacos Anymore Power Hour Mix. Together, they have over 300 downloads! Fucking amazing!  I was happy with both of them. I am glad I have them and its awesome to make them.

Anyways, I realized the other day that my Power Hour mixes were both DATED as I haven’t made one since OCTOBER, LAST YEAR! Fuck that!  We can’t have that shit in my house. So, I decided to update them with all new music; good music! Anyways, I got rid of the shit songs and kept the good songs. You know how I do! I decided to throw in more remixes and keep it fast pace.

Since everyone loved the way the last one worked…which it worked well (DUH – WINNING – BI-WINNING)! I repeated the same method (without being lazy). For those who don’t remember, I said this (except this time I got the BPM for each song except the first song due to the fact IT FUCKING WORK WELL AS NUMBER 1):

This one, I made a bit differently as well. For the most part, the song list (provided below like always) goes up by BPM (beats per minute). There is a few exceptions such as the first few songs because I didn’t have the BMP and was too lazy to find them. Plus, I like those songs, so they went first. Also some songs had the same artist right next to each other, so I had to spread it out by like a few songs. Overall, it goes up and its awesome.  It’s great because as you drink more, the songs get faster and its enjoyable by all.

Ok, so hopefully all of you heard my first Power Hour Mix – DJ G$’s Oktoberfest Power Hour Mix. It has 70 downloads! Cool!  It was good especially for my first. It got great reviews all around. Hell, my friend just texted me Saturday that he was listening to it in the car. I was laughing because he doesn’t realize it is for DRINKING (responsibly) only.

I wasn’t completely happy with it though. I felt some songs needed to be added and some needed to be removed. This time, I named it because I was thinking of what would be the most random things and many people have pulled different meanings of it. Maybe it has a real meaning or not.

I named it Oktoberfest Power Hour because of the fact that Oktoberfest ended this weekend for the most part. No German related music what so ever, but yeah. I named it that lol. For those who don’t know what a power hour, you are totally missing out.

Many might recognize this as a lightweight version of Century Club.

Urban Dictionary defines Century Club as:

A legendary club you become a member of by drinking 100 beer shots in 100 minutes. This club doesn’t have meetings or anything, you just use it to impress frat buddies, hoes, or practically anyone that admires feats of great alcohol consumption.
